Modelling

"Scientific modelling is a scientific activity the aim of which is to make a particular part or feature of the world easier to understand, define, quantify, visualize, or simulate. It requires selecting and identifying relevant aspects of a situation in the real world and then using different types of models for different aims, such as conceptual models to better understand, operational models tooperationalizemathematical models to quantify, and graphical models to visualize the subject. Modelling is an essential and inseparable part of scientific activity, and many scientific disciplines have their own ideas about specific types of modelling. There is also an increasing attention to scientific modelling in fields such as philosophy of sciencesystems theory, and knowledge visualization. There is growing collection of methods, techniques and meta-theory about all kinds of specialized scientific modelling."

Prof Sopia also introduced used on modelling. My group had choose to present on virtual labs in transpirations topic as our modelling project.

As you can see from the picture above, this virtual labs is very interesting and helping teacher to empower students transpiration concept. There is a table provided for the students to fill in their data each time they change the variables. There's also calculator provided in this modelling for student to calculate the rate of transpiration immediately after they got the data.

I am very excited and interested in this modelling and virtual lab. So, after the class I've explored more and find out one links that might help the teachers out there to used virtual labs in their Teaching and learning at schools.

Here is the link.. and check it out guys :)
